The venue for Mizuno Wave Run this year was changed to UPM, which is nearer to my house. I arrived at the venue quite early with my 15 years old son. I brought him along because I managed to get a "free" bib from my Taman Bukit Jalil's running mate.
For the 1st half of the race, I managed to maintained my form and reached the only water station at around 5KM. I checked my watch and apparently my pace was fast, the time shown was around 22 minutes. The route from around 6KM onwards was quite flat until I reached the hostels. I felt quite tire then and I knew it is quite inevitable for the lack of training over the past two months. I couldn't maintain the pace and soon those runners around me disappeared in front of me one by one. At the last slope, my pace was further reduced since both my legs were softened. However, I managed to pickup some speed at the downhill and maintained the pace until the finishing line, it was almost twenty over seconds past 50 minutes. I was slightly disappointed not being able to run below 50 minutes for this 11Km race, but this is the price I have to pay for not training hard enough!
Overall, the run was quite enjoyable and I managed to snap some photos using my compact camera. I will download these photos to the photo album at tangcc.multiply.com.
The vest is quite nice looking.
